Everyone at work was labelled shitheads. It actually helped burn off a bit of angst - nothing like saying things like "Shithead, could you come here for a minute. I would like you to take this paperwork over to shithead in accounts. And while you're there, see shithead in the corner and remind them we need to book a bus for 30 shitheads next Wednesday. Thanks shithead, much appreciated." 😂 By the end of the day I had converted most of the building to our new work speak 😂😁

Each ANZAC Day, each Remembrance Day, occasionally just on random days, I think of my grandfather, like so many others, standing in a trench on The Western Front during WW1. There he was, still a teenager, voluntarily across the other side of the world, living, fighting, serving. The conditions were more often than not truly atrocious. Mud, rats, death, loss, gas, injury, rations, noise, uncertainty, fear, hyper-vigilance. So many tens of millions died during that war, so many more of course, have died and been killed in conflicts since. Today, we remember that service. There is doubtless not a single one of us here today, who doesn't owe their existence to that war. That's not a justification, just should give us all pause for thought. Lest we forget. Mr. urn. .

Thanks Mr Urn. You are right, the conditions were atrocious. Today I wore my fathers medals in honour. I've never worn anything like that before. I wish there was a lot more support out there, for some of our veterans. There are many out there who deserve white/gold cards. Many don't have anything nor support. It makes me sad. Ms Foxy

I tend to also employ the following, "Never ask a question you don't already know the answer to." A great deal can often be learned from how others respond. Thanks for responding.Mr. urn. .

that we refer to the solar system (No capitals required here) we live in.. as "Our Solar System"as opposed to "The Solar System" At least, that is how I was taught a LONG time ago.I actually remember it quite clear, and can name the Nun who declared it so.I remember what school year I was in, what class room I was in AND, I believe I can name the child who was seated at the same double desk (No double capitals required) with me.WHY?How the fuck would I know why I remember that shit. Now, I ALSO do not give a "Flying Fuck" (See what I did there? Double capitals!!) on how any other fucker wishes/declares/insists on speaking about the solar system (No capitals required here either) we reside within and I will therefore continue to refer to it in terms I was taught, applying the logic as it was delivered to me. Just saying so...

That we have to wait for science to tell us there are other systems out there. I think Carl Sagan said it best when he said if you think there isn't something else out there considering the size of space you have to be naive. Not an exact quote but basically what he said. Fuck waiting for science some shit is just simple to work out for ourselves or make obvious valid conclusions.

  • usrightnow_Again

Quoting 'usrightnow_Again' . Now, re my question on page one, turns out, yes, our planetary system is just called, The Solar System. Largely because we thought, for rather a long time, ours was the only sun and the stars were different. Now we know our sun is just another star and it's no longer the only system we know of with orbiting planets. However, general convention has it that they are planetary systems, or stellar systems, named after their star and as our star has the name The Sun, or Sol, from Solaris, our solar system is known as The Solar System. There is some debate over calling our sun, The Sun, bit like another pleonasm, The Moon. Maybe it should have a more definitive name, like Trevor or SS1 or something? Anyway, my brain is about to explode, time to watch the day unfold. Mr. urn. . So, thought I'd go and get what I wrote on page 6, to save me referring to it, et cetera. And yeah Cavey, that nun who instructed you all those years ago, seems to have been quite progressive in referring to it with the prefix Our, rather than The. I too remember learning about our system, my teacher, who I sat next to and I still have the painting I did, as my representation of The Sun and each of the planets. Of course, that included Pluto, now cast into definition with the other Dwarf Planets, like Ceres, Eris and the others. Mr. urn. .

Over the last couple of weeks, Mrs. urn. has had another set of investigations checking for secondary cancer. Although, thankfully, there was no further cancer this time, she has acquired an auto-immune disease that predisposes her to the type of cancer they were investigating. For now, it just means medication, vigilance and regular check ups, she's pretty used to the latter two anyway. .. If anyone feels something isn't quite right, see your doctor. It may be nothing at all, it may be something that requires monitoring, or perhaps it will be something that requires action. Ignoring or denying symptoms, won't make a genuine problem go away. Stay safe and look after yourselves. Mr. & Mrs. urn. .

Great advice about asking a GP at a minimum. So in interest of putting an issue out there... I carry quite a number of lipomas, which are harmless fatty, longterm tumours. In this case only an aesthetic problem. Certainly noticeable if someone were to give me a massage! I'm curious who else here has them? The problem also is getting one removed may leave a scar more visibly noticeable than the lump currently is. - Posted from rhpmobile

I had it checked (again) a couple of months ago as I was getting pains when lifting things and raising my arm above shoulder height. Another check up booked in 6 months, and if the scan shows it has grown a reasonable amount I may be facing surgery; its starting to impact on the muscle 😣😕

A blonde woman was speeding down the road in her little red sports car and was pulled over by a woman police officer who was also a blonde. The blonde cop asked to see the blonde's driver's license. She dug through her purse and was getting progressively more agitated. ‘What does it look like?' she finally asked. The policewoman replied, ‘It's square and it has your picture on it.’ The driver finally found a square mirror in her purse, looked at it, and handed it to the policewoman. 'Here it is,' she said. The blonde officer looked at the mirror, then handed it back saying,' Okay, you can go. I didn't realize you were a cop.’

To make a short story even longer, and completely boring to everyone else. That's exactly my kind of riding. I currently have a Husaberg FE450 to keep my skills up technically, but my passion is in long distance off road riding. The bigger bikes that can munch through the miles. Had the R1200GS, R1200GSA,Tiger800 etc. Last trip i did was Perth to the tip of QLD, through the deserts. Was on the great central rd for three days and came across an Austrian woman on a push bike. I stopped to ask if she was OK. Sunburnt, red raw and pushing this push bike through sand. She had been on that road for three weeks. Also have done the run from Byron Bay lighthouse to Steep point, ( most easterly point to the most westerly point. Over Big Red etc. Hope to do Byron to Steep again in a couple of months , this time in the Hilux. Yeah, i'm getting soft. But you'll never find me at cafe sipping Latte's and looking at strategically placed chromed garage queen, saying "look at me" Cant go wrong with The WR.....Husy's, KTM's, more temperamental, require more maintenance and $

I was a month off50, and riding from Kalgoorlie to Perth pre-dawn late July.(IF you have done this, you understand the relevance - Fckn COLD)Steel cap work boots and standard socks - standard denim work jeans - a blue singlet, thin leather gloves(With a couple of the right hand fingers burnt off them), and a "Dress style Dryzabone jacket. half face helmet, and an '84 shovelhead. It was FUCKING cold.. I hurt.200k into the trip I pulled up for a coffee and thaw-out.A dude on a BMW comes over.. with FULL gear on.. layers of clothes.. asks if her can ride with me.I laughed.. "Mate.. I travel at 100kph// 110max, I couldn't keep up"he replied he is only travelling slow tooHE complained about the cold, as he zipped and clipped his layers shut.. and pulled on his fullface. As we were about to leave, he said. "Oh.. I need to pull up at the next stop.. I am getting a bit old for this and need to stretch every 100km"Too easy.. I like coffee.we stopped at Merredin, and I asked his age.. "32"... FFS..we got talking jackets, and I mentioned a mate had a spitfire pilot jacket with wiring in it to keep them warm during flight.. but it doesn't run on 12voltOLD fella on the BMW smiles and pulls the plug out of HIS jacket... FM!! HE had, AND was using a heated jacket!!HE kept saying he was too old for this cold, and all. Never once asked me how the fuck I do it.. OR how old I was... And man.. I certainly LOOKED my age that morning.Next stop. 85 odd km.. he noticed the burnt gloves, and asked what happened.. I replied..I burnt them on my exhaust.. I have damaged nerves in my hands from a life of jack hammers, rattle guns and underground hand held drilling machines..(The cold causes unbelievable pain) I put my left hand down between the barrels of my bike to warm them up.. then change hands on the throttle.. control crossed over with left hand on throttle and put my right hand down there.. of course, my fingers can feel NOTHING external.. only pain.. and my exhaust is on the right hand side.. so. this burns my gloves.."HE was fascinated that it was even POSSIBLE to ride crossed over... THEN.. the CUNT, takes me over to his bike.. Yep.. you fucking guessed it.. he had heated fucking bars.. AND a heated seat.. and STILL claimed he was too old for this cold..That was it for me..I told him I had changed my mind was going to get laid instead of going home to my partner..Took the first turn right off Great Eastern Highway that would get me to Goomalling.. Dropped in on an old squeeze.. had a fucking hot shower.. a few hours of fucking hot sex. then another shower.. and rode on home..Always wondered who that fucking tossa was.. and WHY the fuck did he come into my life..Life's little stories...I do love to ride though..

Quoting 'SuperFoxxxy' RIP. My poor Venus fly trap died. I either over watered it in a pot without drainage or it starved to death. I've replaced it with one of those Carnivorous jug plants. It's in a new pot with drainage, so see how my brown thumb goes with this one. 😇 Ms Foxy Best you keep your Jugs away from it then. Come to thin k of it I am quite partial to chewing on jugs too (softly)

Quoting 'countrytouch' Great advice about asking a GP at a minimum. - Posted from rhpmobile Thanks ct. . I have something similar, only fibrous, next to my right shoulder blade. And believe me, it's the least of my physical problems. One reason I was the more reticent of the two of us to meet people when we had our old profile. Also one of the reasons why, when people were naming rooms for themselves in this Hotel California, back in 2016, I said I was the beast in the basement, which accrued four likes in half an hour, and that was before we'd met some of those throwing a like on, so it kind of seemed right to own it. I think people are generally more comfortable with scars than lumps, bumps and other anomalies. If it's a concern, get it removed, especially if it's having an impact on your confidence. I've seen the way people look at me sometimes over the years, it's a tough pill to swallow, but, it is what it is. For some people, even for friendship, you have to look how they want you to, meh, just have to move on and live happy knowing they passed up something that's their loss. Incidentally, when we met you at the Sydney M&G, Mrs. urn. said you were very polite and nice. Remember, these things don't go unnoticed. All the best. Mr. urn.

To the wonderful strong woman formerly known as (prefix) Dragon, sending our love and thoughts. Although we miss your clear, forthright and insightful posts, sometimes time away is helpful and much more relaxing. We were away for nearly three weeks recently, as not well and busy, and only noticed you had gone last week. Hey, we had nearly a year away. And let's face it, sometimes good posters attract their own little band of arseholes. Come back and post if and when you feel able and ready to. Remember, you have some fans here too. People who admire and respect you. Mr. & Mrs. urn.

Like the position you are in, I always feel for others, on health grounds, as unlike other burdens in life, they can have an effect on our day to day lives 24/7. My issue is a very minimal problem. In any case apart from lumps on my forearms, you have to undress me to find any more (no not that kind of lump)... Only a minority create a noticable bulge in the skin. Unlike MsJ, mine are no bigger than a walnut at the largest, although that is also one of the oldest, likely over 10 years now, on my upper thigh. The smallest ones are perhaps more like peas. As such, no individual lipoma is any issue, to consider a removal, but it's more of a nuisance amid the idea of having a ideal health status.

I've had moments like that, too. For some, it's definitely not about the challenge. And you're right...doing long distances on the bike is mostly about sucking it in, hardening up and just getting on with the business of doing long kays, day after day. Cos, you've got to get from A to B in C time. Mostly( after the poetic, romantic, riding in the early morning fresh air, enjoying the moment bit.. ), I've found that it's long stretches of monotony, lost in my thoughts with earplugs in( cos without them, then 8 hours of wind noise will leave my eardrums ringing and I'll never sleep ), and broken by fuel and rest stops that seem to get longer and closer together as the afternoon progresses and my back, bum and arms ache more and more. It's a funny form of self-punishment that doesn't seem fairly balanced, but I'm already prepping to do it again. What do they call that...that illogical desire to punish yourself?

Was messaging quite fruitfully a woman on RSVP, from Geelong. Progressed to a two hour first phone call. The next night, another call. But at our next convenience for a call, she tells me she has decided I am too far away for her. Another passing moment in the world of dating or attempts at it... - Posted from rhpmobile

@ 81 Bikes 🏍, babes 👙 or otherwise 😬 I have an 84 yo legend skier on my local lake. Still Barefoots and can ride a plank!!! I’m just average at everything. Except a backwards whip on a disc. That’s my signature move. 😜 Much kudos to your dad Vivalakoko, that’s awesome 👏 So good to hear about older people that refuse to let age be a barrier for excitement 👊 - Posted from rhpmobile

There must be something in the air this week. A shite week, with a particularly shitiest shite day today. Sometimes the need to be diplomatic, nuturing and supportive is overwhelmed by the desire to bop someone on the nose, accompanied by a dose of the cold hard truth.
