I painted most of my house, but I never got to doing one wall and the loungeroom. They had to redo my ensuite and they had to paint that one wall I hadn't done, so it now matches :D They are also going to have to repaint my loungeroom that I hadn't got to either with house repairs..Works for me :DBut this time I'm pulling up my floorboards so he doesn't paint them as well..

Ha! I did the kitchen, living room, hallway, etc a year ago, and I'm pretty pleased with my efforts. But, it was a prick of a job...which is why I'd been putting off getting back to it. Only because I didn't want to waste the remaining couple of litres of blue paint, really. I don't know if it "goes off", but it needed a good bit of stirring with a drill and a screwdriver turned upside-down to recombine it. I've only that limited experience with house painting...I just figured it out myself...and you wouldn't want to be paying me by the hour to do it, I'd cost you a fortune. I found it actually quite stressful doing the cutting in sometimes..trying to get clean, sharp lines..one chance only..around doorway, ceiling, window, tiles, shower, a toilet!!!!....brush coated with a vibrant blue paint that's just begging to fuck your day up! But, it's immensely satisfying when it's all cleaned and back together in the end.

Yes cutting in is the worst, and I am shit at it, lucky it's my house :D I also painted my 2nd bathroom a strong color called wheat.. you may call it a variation of beige lol When they painted the house new they painted it a real cold sterile white, and had white tiles, so I just did a natural white, and have laid loose lay vinyl (great stuff - but took me forever) It is worth the effort in the end, when you do it and you can see the improvement.I painted one wall at least ten times because I couldn't decide what color to use :D On a different topic, am I the only one that feels like they're living in a time warp because the Backstreet boys have a song in the top ten?

Peachy is right. Use masking tape next time to cut in. On one recent reno I did, I painted the walls white and the window frames in a dark charcoal grey. That was was biatch, cutting in on the front verandas windows on an old Queenslander. I think there was 12 windows side by side. You're right tho, (when the job is complete) standing back and admiring is empowering. Except I want things perfect, so it took me ages as I kept seeing eneven lines where the charcoal met the white. It drove me nuts for days. Ms Foxy

  • RHP

Yes, you sound like a perfectionist.. I tried the masking tape last time, when I did the living room, etc...but it wasn't the clean, sharp lines that I thought it would be when I peeled it off.It was a faintly jagged line, like a torn piece of paper. I find I can do a sharper line just freehand. And with intense concentration. Particularly where I've got bright blue walls meeting white walls. Focus. Serious focus.. But, it all looks good now. I may have just taken a few years off my lifespan, that's all.

I have to paint my whole house. Inside and out. I’m buying a spray gun for the outside. The ceiling is the worst. Straight to the massage table after that or the chiro. The finished product is so satisfying though you’re right. - Posted from rhpmobile

Make sure you buy one of those full body suits, hair caps, goggles, mask etc. If you're anything like me, I seem to get it everywhere. I mean everywhere! It takes days for it to come out of my hair. I've learnt the hard way. 😬 Painting is not one of my better skills. Ms Foxy Ps Yes Kool I am. I don't have the patience anymore. I'm too old now, so I'd rather pay someone to do it. Lol!

(still need masking tape to stop splatter etc on other parts though).

We tried masking tape and it didn't work for us, so we went for the expensive stuff (which has done 2 rooms so far). Guys, we made sure it was 'stuck' firmly at the edges so nothing could get underneath to ruin that straight line we're all after. It saved heaps of time and was far more satisfactory than our usual finishes. Literally, different paint strokes for different folks, Peachy

Terrific special on rage last night, celebrating 40 years since the release of Blondie's album, Parallel Lines. It showcased songs from across Blondie's career, those Debbie did solo and an array they, (Debbie, Clem and Jimmi), chose from other artists. Including a great song Clem chose, of new New York band, Interpol. It might be replayed on ABC 23 through the week one evening. Forty years, time passes so bloody quickly, especially these days that we're all "hanging on the telephone". Part of the soundtrack of my life and now, in the minds that read this, part of the soundtrack of The Coffee Shop 😊 . Mr. urn. .

Well, after some terrific and very loud sex between midnight and 2am this morning, apologies to the neighbours, while I made some avocado toast and Mrs. urn. drifted gently off to sleep, I read on my phone, that today, Saturday June 9, is World Gin Day. So, if you enjoy a London Dry, a softer French variety, a more herbal and aromatic English or even Dutch one, or perhaps something totally different, like the Scottish, Jinzu, and whether you splash it in a cocktail or drink it straight, (always responsibly, of course), have a gin, there's even plenty of events across the country. Have fun ☺.. It's also the Queen's Birthday long weekend here in N.S.W. and some other places, although Her Majesty The Queen, turned 92 in April. When I was a kid, we always had a fireworks night on the Saturday. Usually lots of fun, although, occasionally something got burnt, once, even me, thanks to some annoying kid that had been invited along. Anyway, have a safe and enjoyable weekend. Mr. urn. .

Allan Bond came into a restaurant when I was behind the bar, the waitress said he wanted Tanqueray, I gave him Gordons The trick for a dry Martini is to get a little Vermouth as possible into it. The trick I learned behind the bar was to splash some Vermouth over the ice in the cocktail strainer then to drain it out, then add the gin, stir gently so as not to bruise the Gin and strain into a pre-chilled Martini glass. An olive for me please, occasionally a twist of lemon zest. Martini's are like breasts or testicles one is not enough and three is too many.

Are people thinking that are constantly driving at about 70 in a 100 zone, all fine, I respect your choice, but then as soon as you pull aside them in an OVERTAKING LANE or straight road they want to race you up to 100 OR MORE in what can only be seen as a DELIBERATE effort to prevent you overtaking them, and should you decide to NOT SPEED EVEN FURTHER in order to get past them and slink back behind them, they then slow back to 70 once the overtaking opportunity has passed. Unfortunately a very common occurence. When I was road tripping in New Zealand recently, among the many common sense signs I saw that would never be seen or used here, were signs all over the place saying: "Traffic Behind You? Let Them Pass!" (Including the exclamation mark) And lo and behold, people actually often did it! ... (Yes I know, I can f*** off out of here back to NZ then... haha)

Are people thinking that are constantly driving at about 70 in a 100 zone, all fine. Mate I feel the same way, just done couple off trips, back and forth to the red centre then heaps of dirt driving. I respect they won't to travel this great big country, and see all the sites and experience the events held around the country. Majority have communication and give u a heads up they are going g to slow as u pass and allow u to continue on unhindered. I also respect that people need to drive to thier own ability, but this can cause problems as traffic lines up behind them, and frustration raises it's ugly head. We need the roads, to supply one and all, and all pay to use them. We even use them to make a living, but at the end of the day it's better to arrive late, rather than Dead on time. Safe travels.

I don't think a lot of people would tell the difference quite often. In the eighties it became a status thing to say, oh I only drink x or y. I had a friend who only drank Dimple. He was a wanker. I once worked in a pub in western Sydney. I was told the customers were very fussy. It was explained to me that they would come in, ask for a beer, and I better know how to pull it well. I remember the first guy rolling up to the bar and asking for a beer. I asked what type he'd like, he replied, "beer, just want a beer mate". Turns out there was only one on tap. And that's all any of the punters wanted. Good use of that TAFE course, lol. I also worked on a bottling line for a while. We had one product that we'd slap a nicer label on and charge seven times as much for it. Mr. urn. .

Warmer than f-f-f-f-freezing is still pretty damn cold, especially if you're going to be around Otago. Central Otago is both the hottest and coldest part of NZ, they have the Brass Monkey Rally there on a good year the beer will freeze.

Filming in between blizzards.. That was about 30km out of Omakau... Yep.. Gorgeous country alright... but fucking cold :)

I think Gr8 was referring to FlyGirl's thread, not the one you are referring to - that masterpiece is still trawling the depths of believability 🤔

I'm not sorry I missed it. But judging by the spelling, there was not enough cumming going on. Peachy, had cream on her coffee, didn't need to add sugar 'cos she's sweet enough...
