But the rhp nazis wouldn't let it happen... Since sometime around new year, I have stopped receiving alerts to new messages on my iPhone... It's not something I've changed on my phone or the app... I'm pretty sure... When I open the app I might have a message, but before the new year I would get an alert on my lock screen or homepage... But not now... Can't believe the last couple days..home with tonsillitis.... Supposed "friend" isnt in the mood to talk to me....My beautiful sis in law who is more like my real sister has had 2 brain tumours removed, yesterday she was taken to hospital with symptoms of another :( Do you know the bastards upped her meds and sent her home today!!! Didn't even do a MRI !! God forbid they should spend the taxpayers dollars on something valuable ! Now am worried about LD !!! Sorry all just a vent!! just shamefully poking my head out of my messy dragon lair to apologise for the worry I caused, and to say how truly grateful I am for the kind words and offers of support that I have received over the last couple of days. And perhaps even more importantly, thankyou for what I haven't received - no shaming, or judgement, or being made to feel even more embarrassed and...well...stupid, than I already do. It has all overwhelmed me...in a good way. When I first joined RHP and then started posting on the forums, I certainly didn't expect to end up making good 'real life' friends out of it, let alone meet some of the most awesome people I have ever known. But I have, and I'm so glad for that. Hmm...the brain is still a little scrambled and the words aren't flowing easily, so I'll leave it there. Thankyou again. You all rock.

Since Meatloaf has retired due to deteriorating deafness, I dreamt that his management team had picked out a replacement to perform at concerts and I went along to the first one. The concert didn't go down too well. The replacement managed to sound a bit like him but he was short and skinny with short, black, curly hair and kept including non-Meatloaf material in his performance. He was booed off stage.Then they hired me to do it, ....because I was fat enough.

The death of Charlotte Dawson is on my mind. Along with the deaths of so many others eaten alive by the demons of depression and mental illness. As someone who has struggled with the demons for nearly 11 years, including episodes of feeling suicidal, I know their destructive capabilities all too well. So much more needs to be done. The way mental illness is viewed, and the way that people with mental illness are treated - both by the general public and health professionals - needs to change. The current state of affairs isn't good enough. Not nearly fucking good enough.

Wingman - thankyou...and you're definitely right about that being very important...but also, unfortunately it's not always enough when you're dealing with severe depression (or other MI). From what I gather, Charlotte Dawson had been seeing friends in the weeks leading up to her death, and she had lunch with a friend just the day before she died. She obviously had a large social circle and many friends, but it wasn't enough. And I can empathise...those times when you feel so empty, useless and hopeless, it is so fucking hard to reach out from that black void and ask for help from anyone. Often you don't even want to because you just feel like a huge burden on everyone, and think that they really would be better off without you around. That's why I liken it to a demon...when it gets its claws into your head it's so, so hard to even loosen their grip, let alone remove them completely. I'm not saying all this to elicit sympathy, just trying to provide some insight into how insidious severe depression can be, because I know how difficult it is to understand if you haven't experienced it. Indy - I just remembered I haven't replied to your last text, oops!! I'm paid up on here now so I'll message you.

Sometimes I feel like that too. It gets to me, whatever it is. Sometimes I sit on the roof and try to breath. It's a struggle and no amount of well meaning good company is useful. But eventually, I come down from the roof, without jumping off it. So far so good. I'm going to grow a hydroponic garden up there, I've decided, and grow vegetables to put in my vitamix. Just take this with you please, since you have been posting to the forums, you have bought some good stuff to the table, it's been a joy and where someone speaks from their inner self, even offensive is still full of meaning, truths. You have become a strong character and given your heart to some in here that would have needed it from someone. With all the banter and bullshit, war and peace, some folk need the spirits from others to guide the troubles within, so you know it has been noticed, appreciated and our respects to the care of it all. Though Meatloaf was proving something to the industry and telling the critics to stick it up their arse, for suggesting he would fail, never make it in the rock n roll world with a trained opera voice, fat and all Meatloaf went further to prove his point, he backed himself up to become a superstar entertainer, can't keep his hands off the young ladies, but they seem to nervously get out of his way without embarrassing him. That was Jim Steinman. I've got that album too. Steinman wrote all the songs and Meatloaf performed them. The big fella strained his voice doing the 'Bat Outa Hell' tour and had to take a break from performing so Steinman recorded the second album, 'Bad For Good'. After Meatloaf recuperated, they collaborated on another album, 'Dead Ringer' but, if you listen to it in it's entirety, you can still hear that his voice was weaker in the high range.Meatloaf's voice improved over the next few years and a few solo albums before the two worked together again for 'Bat Outa Hell 2'. Steinman also contributed some songs to Meatloaf's next couple of albums.Jim Steinman has worked with Bonnie Tyler, Air Supply, Cher, Barbara Streisand, Def Leppard, Barry Manilow, Pandora's Box as well as writing music for stage and screen. Two of the best songs out of the movie 'Streets Of Fire' were his.I love Steinman's music and I love Meatloaf's voice.Umm, okay... lecture over.

Unfortunately, I know where your coming from..... I haven't been joining in the forums lately as amongst celebrating my sons milestone in life, at the same time we have had to accept the hard decision to hospitalise our daughter (15) for severe depression. We had her out for the celebrations, however, when I was returning her to the lockdown ward, she ran and I ended up having to call security to stop her...... Thank goodness she is getting the help she needs...... Then we come home to hear about Charlotte Dawson and not an hour later a friend lost his 22 year old niece to depression...... About all three, everyone was so surprised, as they were being social and friendly. How sad that people suffering from this imbalance feel so desperate to escape, that they feel that suicide is their only chance.

My thoughts go out to you and your daughter. I know how difficult it has been for my own parents, initially not understanding at all what was going on with me, and wanting to help but not even knowing where to start. We had some really rough periods. But they always stuck by me and I was lucky, and your daughter is as well as you obviously want to help and support her. Hugs to you x.

I was just online when my real-time feed showed I had received a message. However when clicking on my Inbox, it wasn't there. Even after two hours it still hasn't shown up. Had I not been online I would have not known about this lovely lady's well-wishes and seemed like a cow for not responding. Has anyone else encountered this?
