Starting with success?

Ok, so here it goes
As a man it is always expected to take a first approach into things like this (swinging), and I find it a bit hard, me and my partner have been together for over 8 years and recently got married. Everything works great but we decided to take this step, she is a bit shy so we decided I'm the one to start texting and starting to approach other couple. But what's the best way to do it without looking like a freak or making people look at you weird?
Any advice people ?
