  just get a new radiator set ya back about 300 dollars

  Yeah, did that today, I think its a lot worse than that, broke down on way home from friends place again and had to walk 10k home, tried to hitch but no-one would stop, might have been cause I hade my dog with me. No one even helped me push it off to side of road. So new post, who stops to help strangers cheers AJdude

  Yes, it probably was because you had your dog with you, as most people are wary of dogs these days. How bad was your radiator? If it just had a crack in the hose, you could've temporarily patched it up, but if it was the actual radiator itself, or worse still, the water pump, not much you can do but call a friend who can come out and fix it for you, or better still, call the RACV. You're not a member? It always pays to be in the RACV, for $75 a year, I think it's worth it. Regarding your point on helping strangers, not many people do these days mostly because they're probably afraid they'll get mugged, stabbed or assaulted in some way, as so often is the case these days. Years ago, people were more obliging to help a stranger, but with that biker guy in Melbourne who shot the lawyer and Dutch tourist for coming to the aid of the woman who was being assaulted, that has made a lot of people in Melbourne think twice about helping a stranger. Personally, for me, I would help a stranger because it's just in my nature to, however, if that person looked suss or dodgy, I would think twice, but it's a hard choice to make at times. If you had been a female with a short skirt and heels on, I'm sure many men would've stopped to assist you, although these days some men are reluctant to do that, for fear of her boyfriend appearing out of nowwhere ready to bash him. lol.
