Modern Female sexual archetypes

December 16 2013

Hey mainly a question for the ladies to answer how they see themselves. Rather then the same old stereo types. What I want to know is what is some of the real perceptions and beliefs and opinions if they had to describe themselves and others sexuality positively not negatively. You know not the narrow perception pretty limited to either chaste pure virgin or slut with little description in between. Have read some academic and psychology papers on it recently but that was a snore fest. Looking for some more interesting and entertaining perspective on it.

I've read your post a few times, and find your question so incredibly broad I wouldn't know where to even start..And you're looking for help with your thesis now, are you?

How are you supposed to describe it? I am not even sure how I am supposed to answer. My sexuality is not static and is still evolving, and changes at different times in my life. If I have to slot it into an archetype? Well, I am not a seductress,, I am not a mother, I am not the girl next door, I am not the slut... Maybe I am the free spirit. Well that is what I am striving for.

No, I am not one archetype, I am all of them and more. You are have different roles and persona's with different people. So some people being out the dominant side, the submissive side, my maternal side, the seductress.... My inner slut has been buried due to the social, cultural and religious norms that I have been bombarded with all my life. God help you all if she ever gets out. Hahaha. ;-)

but did a bit of reading and I'm still confused as to what you are asking...from what I read I would not say I am only one, I would say I am all and it changes, grows, adapts everyday in every situation. To me sexuality is ever evolving, ever changing and all sides need to be explored. Not suer if I am even on the right track there, but that's my little contribution. and welcome

these so called archetypes are constructed by MEN. They are perpetuated by using examples from popular culture by MEN. It was Jung who introduced us to the concept of archetypes yes? A MAN. So, I don't buy into it all I'm afraid. Many times I've heard from men that they are simple creatures. Well, this is a perfect example!

thanks for responses and i appreciate that many of you are saying you don't get the question realise it is very broad and a bit ambiguous because i my self are a bit confused, because i am trying to brainstorm some ideas and terms too describe what and mischievouslad has pointed out most in here have positive healthy sex perception. I guess what i was getting at was a way to describe an "inner" sexual entity if you like so for some women there is an Inner slut that begs to be touched. other archetypes might be the femme fatale who wants to manipulate and by that i mean healthy expressions of all those things

Good point couldn't agree with you more. personally by way of background info i have a book getting close to the final stages and currently being edited my book aimed mainly at men that takes aim at the myth of archetypes more so the stereotypes and stigmas that flow from them. I am talking to a couple of female colleagues that would be interested in producing an equivalent product for women. It was in trying to explain what i meant with male archetypes and the background research i did that i realised that i couldn't really explain what i meant for female archetypes and the stereotypes were even worse for females suffice to say i am not planning to add to it. So i jumped on here because i like reading different peoples perspectives and getting ideas i am kind of like the guy who buys playboys for the articles

DG I'm a laziest lay anyone could ever have.....seriously I put most inanimate objects to shame. I don't even make a sound. I cajole men into my bed simply for the satisfaction of seeing their complete and utter surprise when I flop there like raggedy anne doll and expect them to do all the hard yards......I used to be big on pariticipation NOW it's just accommodation....sometimes. Care to change my stance or lack thereof? ~ Indy guiless attempt at seducing yet another archetype "alpha male".

included two examples of your female archetypes. Interestingly, both arguably negative. As are most of the others that have been constructed. I would be interested to see what your female colleagues come up with because women have been attempting to dispel these categorisations for decades.

Reminds me of the discussion into someone's sexual style, lots of men just didn't understand the question. It's like some blokes only have one speed.

i am trained in tantric sex so i would just repackage starfish as a karezza and call it a soft sex technique i am curious though whether you see yourself as broken whether your simply too tired to be bothered moving or its a challenge to alpha males to try and rock your world

Meeks, you aren't allowed to stand behind me..........EVERRRRRRR!!! OP I lost count of the number of male starfish I came across who generally just lay beneath me whilst I ground them into oblivion. DG I promise if you make the first move and maybe the second, your arse is mine.....lol. OP I am curious about this book, having glanced over Jung's definition of the femme archetypes and loving the book, The Art of Seduction by Robert Greene who did quite well at using famous persons past and present to demonstrate tactics and archetypical traits to illustrate his conclusions in the beautiful Art of Seduction in the warfare of love, lust and carnal desires. I was having fun reading this kink lastnight and quite like the reference given to 5 primary archetypes given planetary reference and relation to the ancient Goddess' of mythology. I saw aspects of myself in Mercury, Mars and Saturn thiugh I anso have deep affinity for Venus and Jupiter. Femne Fatale Venus was one but not in the calculating context to which you refer. Flattery or not I think it was entertaining reading. ~ Indy girl on the move. http://www.elephantjournal.com/2013/03/the-five-feminine-sexual-archetypes-kevin-macku/

Sheela Na Gig is an awesome strong representation of female sexual identity. Goddess of Willendorf is sexy too. Penis/Vagina worshipping fertility festivals in Japan and probably across much of the world = best thing ever. Think you could watch kids eating penis-shaped icy poles without cringing? I couldn't. OP: I think sexuality is a fluid thing and we shouldn't waste our time describing it in words when we could be discovering it in bodies.

Some sorta Goddess of love, sensuality and sex. Mainly because I don't like to engage in random meets, I like to get to know someone a bit first and have something on-going with them. Kinda like going on a little sensual journey with someone.
