  No Way! Ants don't even have lungs ... or gills for that matter. I'm not even so certain that they can crap. I mean, have you ever seen an ant crapping? No. I don't think so... what happens is, they eat very little... but the more they eat.. the bigger they get... until eventually their guts burst open.   Hugs   Gazza

  I heard also that some termites do nothing but wonder around headbutting stuff.... that is trippy little white ants staggering around bumping into stuff with their heads full of acid. What a way to go eh? I bet they don't fart either... or if they did, they'd fart sparks.   Hugs Gaz

  Are they canibals?  I checked it out on Wikipedia a while back and couldn't see what it labelled them as.I'm sure I've squashed an ant only for another to come by and rip off it's head and carry it home.

  Ants and termites will consume their own to keep the nest/workings clean.With termites, we actually use that against them to transfer chemicals back to the nest and take out the whole colony...

  if a deaf man farts and nobody hears it...does it still smell?yes, ants do fart...and also excrete through their mouth...and haven't you ever wondered why anthills smell so much?...and why anteaters have such looonnnnnnnngggggggggggggggg noses?...."why, all the better to smell where the ants are of course"...

  Ever noticed the odour when you squash an ant? Is that because they shit themselves in a big way? Or maybe its a forced fart. That's interesting Trish... my cat chases insects cos it's afraid of mice. Must plonk it on an ants nest an see how it goes....
