Coffee Meets

April 04 2008

sex

Hi people, In WA they have regular coffee meets so that members and guests can meet. I am wondering whether there is sufficient interest for that to happen here. It would seem the basis for the meetings are: * meeting for the sake of meeting and developing friendships * not assuming cos you meet you are going to get laid * be open to discussion that does not revolve around sex * have a genuine interest in and respect for people Anyone interested? Cheers Wild

Not sure if this is the correct channel, being fairly new and all, but I think this a great idea! Send me message and I would love to meet you and others in Hobart.

Shyguy, When I posted this originally there was no response. Same as the Alley Cat gathering, not a single person identified themselves to me. I am not sure why people don't want to meet. Maybe it has something to do with the smaller population and the two degrees of separation. Cheers Wilds

sounds like a good idea if we weren't from the other end of the state, but if we found someone interested in us we could arrange a road trip 'down south' for a week-end. if nothing else as you suggest it would break the ice so to speak and put a face on the profile . *good topic.

Nice suggestion Wilds After living in Hobart for 4 + 1/2 years (from Sydney) I am still finding it difficult just to establish friendships! From experience, I'm coming to a personal realisation that sex is usually not as good when it is with someone you don't know well than it is with a great friend or lover. I have been single my whole life! Some of that is my own fault. Some of it is simply people I liked weren't interested in me. Some of it was because I have previously suffered depression. Just one question for the ladies: If a guy is unemployed, is that an instant "stay clear" issue, regardless of their personality? phantomcs

Given the interest, I am happy to organise a coffee meet. I'm pretty busy over the next month so how about mid September. I like the Raincheck Coffee Lounge in North Hobart but if anyone has other suggestions please make them. As for days and times, again suggestions are welcome. Be clear about whether you would prefer weekdays, evenings, weekends, so we can include as many people as are interested. Cheers Wilds
